New Staff Members and Scareactors
Do you love the idea of scaring the wits out of people?
How about getting free food and free tickets in exchange for a night of fun?
Listed below are the steps you need to complete to be a scareactor or staff member at Midnight Forest. Please be aware that all positions are considered voluntary, though there are many perks that are listed below.
Step 1: Access the Scareactor Information Sheet and complete it either electronically - send to operations@midnight-forest.com - or fill it out and bring it with you the first night you come to the trail. There is no minimum number of days you must volunteer, and this form does not commit you to volunteer more than once.
Step 2: If you are under 18, you MUST have a parent/guardian signature before you are permitted to volunteer. No exceptions!
Step 3: If you can, send an e-mail to operations@midnight-forest.com to let us know how many will be arriving each night. This helps us plan out makeup and costumes nightly.
Step 4: On the first night you work, you will be asked to complete a 15-20 minute training session before the trail opens. This is very informal, but necessary to make sure you are familiar with the expectations and policies.
Step 5: If you are working a staff position, this is considered a supervisory position, and a more in-depth training session must be attended. This will take approximately one hour.
Step 6: Dress appropriately. It is COLD in October. Please dress warmly, as we cannot provide pants, jackets, gloves, etc. to all of our scareactors. You may wear a costume if you wish, but if you don't have one, we will provide one. Please wear dark clothing (black preferred) that you don't mind getting dirty. Your clothes will probably have mud, makeup and fake blood on them by the end of the night so don't wear your "nice" clothes.
Step 7: Show up early. It sometimes takes a while to have everyone in costume and make-up, trained, and organized. Please be there by no later than 6:00. On your first night, please arrive at 5:30 to allow time for training.
Remember that if you are under the age of 18, you MUST have this sheet signed by a parent or guardian to be allowed to work on the trail.
Perks:
Food of some variety will be provided every night for all
volunteers. This can range from s'mores and snacks to pizza and will vary
nightly. Bottled water and hot chocolate are also provided and will be available
all night. Come hungry!
You will receive one free combination ticket every night you volunteer. You can
use these tickets yourself on a night you choose not to volunteer or you can
give them to friends.
Best of all, you will get to experience one of the most enjoyable ways to spend an October night - making people scream!
